The Karman cannula is a soft, flexible, plastic catheter which the obstetrician-gynecologist uses together with the Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) syringe in order to achieve uterine evacuation and to diagnose and treat pregnancy complications, including early pregnancy loss and endometrial biopsy. The blunt tip of this medical device ensures minimum damage of tissue when inserting it through the cervix and makes the procedure painless for the patient. The device comes in sizes ranging between 4 and 12 mm with an average length of 22.8 cm.
