Dental Implant Types The basic types of dental implants we perform at our clinic are conventional or immediate implants, followed by immediate loading of bridges and crowns called immediate loaded implants. Conventional Implants : A conventional implant is a permanent restoration method for anyone who wants to replace a single, multiple, or all of their missing teeth. This type of implant is normally done in two stages which would require about two trips in about three to four months. The implants are suitable for all types of bone conditions. Prior to dental implants, a bone grafting might be necessary if there has been a loss of jaw bone. Immediate Implants : Implants placed on the same day as the extraction of teeth are known as same-day implants. They are generally recommended only for cases with healthy jaw bones. It depends on the condition of whether an immediate loaded implant can be done or not whether bridges, crowns or dentures are replaced at the same time.
